Privacy Policy – DragonSphere

Introduction

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. This privacy policy explains how the DragonSphere app for iOS and Android handles your data. Where the two versions differ, this is stated in the respective section.

Your Entries Stay With You

Apart from the optional catalog retrieval described below, DragonSphere does not collect any personal data. All information you enter in the app – animals, enclosures, feedings and other entries – is stored on your device: in the iOS app additionally in your private iCloud, in the Android app possibly in your device's Android backup (see “Storage and Backup on Android”). The app does not transmit these entries to us or any third party – the section “QR Codes” describes what the QR codes you create yourself contain.

Optional Retrieval of the Genetics Catalog

In the import area of the app you will find the function “Genetics from the Catalog”. Only when you open this function yourself does the app call up our website mf-cornsnakes.at and load the genetics datasets from there. Without your action, this retrieval does not take place. None of your entries are transmitted in the process.

QR Codes

A QR code that you create in DragonSphere for an animal or a group contains a link to our website dragonsphere.at. This link contains the name of the animal or group, the name of the feeder animal, internal numbers of these entries and two technical identifiers. One belongs to your app installation. In the iOS app, the other belongs to your iCloud account; in the Android app, it is a randomly generated identifier that is not linked to any account. If you scan the code with DragonSphere, nothing is transmitted. If, however, the code is opened with another app, such as the camera, the device calls up our website dragonsphere.at with this link.

Camera and Photos

The app uses the camera to scan QR codes and to take photos of your animals – in each case only after you have allowed access. When scanning, the camera image is analyzed on the device and is neither stored nor transmitted; a photo of an animal that you take is stored by the app like your other entries. You select photos from your media library yourself using the system photo picker; the app receives only the photo you selected. QR codes and animal images that you save as an image are placed in your photo library or gallery by the app at your request.

Private Cloud Storage (iOS)

In the iOS app, your data is stored securely in your private iCloud and is accessible only to you. This allows you to manage your data across all devices using the same Apple ID, without us having any access to your data.

Storage and Backup on Android

The Android app stores your entries and photos on your device. If Android backup is turned on in your device settings, Android backs up this data to your Google account. When you switch devices, Android can transfer it to the new device from this backup or, if you choose this during setup, directly from your old device. Google performs this backup for you; we have no access to it. The app's error log and the stored premium status are excluded – both remain on the device. You can turn off the backup in the Android settings at any time.

Sharing and Exporting

Apart from the iCloud storage (iOS) and Android backup described above, you decide whether data leaves the app: for example, when you share an animal, save a backup file or share the error log, the app hands the data to the destination you select in the share or save dialog. Without such an action, the app does not pass on any data.

Purchases

If you buy or subscribe to Premium in the app, the purchase and payment are handled by Apple's App Store in the iOS app and by Google Play in the Android app. We do not receive your payment details; Apple's or Google's privacy policy applies to them.

No Registration Required

No registration, no user account and no personal details are required to use DragonSphere.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect your entries, you have full control over your information. You can manage, modify, or delete your data at any time. Your entries remain stored until you delete them in the app or remove the app; when you remove the app, the operating system deletes the app data stored on the device. You manage and delete data in your private iCloud (iOS) and an Android backup in your Google account through your Apple or Google account. Questions about the catalog retrieval and about QR codes can be sent to the contact address below.
